Employment Units

Employment Units deliver unique and comprehensive programs designed to promote the placement of skilled Aboriginal people and to recruit employers seeking skilled workforce within the various business sectors across Canada.

The Employment Unit is a bridge between the job seeker and employer in providing a holistic, integrated and principled approach to the solution of the employment (career), education, and training problems of Aboriginal people. As an integral part of the Friendship Centre or Aboriginal Organization, the Employment Unit will assist urban Aboriginal people in following a personalized, step by step pathway to personal, professional and career development which strikes a balance between cultural integrity and employability.

The Employment Unit wishes to empower urban Aboriginal people in preparing for and finding employment; it provides the security and sensitivity necessary to assist them, and keep pace with the constant changes occurring in the labour market.
