The employment services
are available to any individual who enters any of O-GI's Employment Units.
Services include:
- intake
- employment counselling
- resume/cover letter
assistance
- application processing
- training or action
plan development
- referrals
- job search
Employment and Training
Programs
O-GI provides eligible
individuals with interventions aimed at helping clients secure meaningful
employment.
Programs include:
- employment supports
- on the job training
- self-employment assistance
- job-creation partnerships
- targeted wage subsidies
- skills enhancement
- training purchase
- mobility assistance
- apprenticeship skills training
- cultural industries
Client Eligibility
O-GI provides employment
and training programs to the following individuals:
- Non-status individuals
who do not consider themselves Métis or have no affiliation to a
First Nation or Inuit Community
- Status Indians who
have no connection to a band (have Status but are affiliated members of
a band and who are generally listed on the Indian and Northern Affairs Canada's
Indian Registry)
- Status or non-Status
out of province individuals
Youth Programs
The youth program provides
various employer and client based services to O-GI eligible youth aged 15-29
(30 if disabled).
The programs offered include:
- Summer Career Placement (SCP)
- Youth Internship
- Stay in School Initiative
- Youth Community Based Projects
- Student Career Initiative
